Step-by-step guides for every Verdron Labs circuit kit project. Always prioritize safety first — read all instructions before starting.
Build a simple LED circuit using a battery, resistor, and alligator clips. A great introduction to how circuits work.
Choose the green clip resistor. Attach one of the resistor's clips to the positive (+) side of the battery. The positive side is the one with the smaller connection to the battery.
Identify LED leads. The anode (positive) is the long lead; the cathode (negative) is the short lead.
Connect resistor to LED. Attach the other end of the resistor to the LED anode (long lead). Need more help? Clip the resistor to the LED anode (long end) so metal touches.
Wire the other side of the battery. Connect the cathode (negative end — shorter lead) of the LED to the bigger terminal of the battery, the negative side. Use the alligator clip lead.
You're done! The LED should turn on. If not, try turning it around and connecting each of the wires to the other sides.
Build a buzzer circuit with a push switch. When you press the button, the buzzer sounds! This project introduces switches and polarity.
Identify the buzzer terminals. Find the positive (anode) and negative (cathode) on the buzzer. There is a (+) next to the anode.
Connect the buzzer's positive terminal to the battery's positive terminal. Clip the positive terminal of the buzzer to the battery's free connection using an alligator clip. Make sure the connection is tight, and that only the (+) side of the buzzer is touching the clip and battery.
Connect the black clip 150 Ω resistor to the negative side of the battery. The negative side is bigger, usually marked with (−). (−) = Negative, (+) = Positive.
Connect the switch to the free end of the resistor. Clip the resistor to one of the terminals (the little wires connected to the switch) of the small push switch. Be careful that the resistor's clip only touches one of the switch's terminals.
Connect buzzer's negative terminal to the switch using the alligator clip lead. Clip one side of the alligator clip lead to the buzzer's negative terminal (the side not connected to the battery), and clip the other side to the free terminal of the small push switch.
You're Done! Carefully press the push switch — the buzzer should sound while it is pressed.

"Customer": The individual or entity requesting repair services.
"Service Provider": Josiah Ramler / Verdron is an independent electronics repair business not certified or authorized by any original equipment manufacturer (OEM).
"Device": Any electronic equipment or component submitted for diagnosis, repair, maintenance, or upgrade.
"Parts": New, used, or refurbished components used in the repair or maintenance of Devices.
"Independent Repair Provider": A provider, such as Verdron, unaffiliated with the Manufacturer, as defined under Illinois law.
Verdron will perform diagnosis, repair, maintenance, and upgrade services on Customer Devices as requested and authorized. Services may include hardware replacement, software installation, data backup (if requested), cleaning, and troubleshooting.
The Customer affirms they are the owner or authorized agent of the Device and have the right to request service.
The Customer acknowledges that repair of electronic Devices carries inherent risks including potential data loss, unforeseen hardware or software failures, voiding of manufacturer warranties, and incompatibility with future updates.
The Customer is solely responsible for backing up all data prior to service. Verdron is not responsible for any data loss, corruption, or inability to recover data, regardless of cause.
Verdron's liability for any claim is strictly limited to the total amount paid by the Customer for the specific service. Verdron is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, loss of data, or business interruption.
Verdron provides a limited warranty on labor for repairs performed, valid for 30 days from the date of service completion, covering only the specific repair performed.
No warranty is provided for devices with pre-existing damage, misuse, or unauthorized modifications, or for software, data, or compatibility with future updates.
ALL SERVICES AND PARTS ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT ANY EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.
An estimate will be provided prior to commencing work. The customer may set a maximum budget before service begins — this acts as an approved spending limit. Customers will be notified before any charges exceed the approved estimate.
Full payment is due upon completion. Accepted payment methods: cash and check (payable to Josiah Ramler). All parts remain the property of Verdron until paid in full.
Verdron will make reasonable efforts to complete repairs within the estimated timeframe. No guarantee is made regarding specific completion dates due to parts availability, complexity, or unforeseen issues. Customers will be notified of any significant delays.
If a repair fails due to Verdron's error within the warranty period, the Customer is entitled to corrective action at no additional labor charge. If a repair cannot be completed, the Customer will be offered return of the unrepaired device, partial refund for unperformed services, or credit toward future services.
Verdron collects and processes Customer information solely for the purpose of providing repair services and complying with legal obligations. Personal data is stored securely and is not sold or shared with third parties except as required by law.
With explicit Customer consent, Verdron may use images or descriptions of repaired Devices for advertising or educational purposes. Consent may be withdrawn at any time. By leaving a review, the Customer provides perpetual consent for that review to be shared in paper, audio, and digital formats.
In the event of a dispute, the parties agree to first attempt resolution through good-faith negotiation. If negotiation fails, disputes will be submitted to mediation or binding arbitration in Woodford County, Illinois. This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Illinois.
Verdron is an independent repair provider and is not certified, authorized, or affiliated with any Device manufacturer or OEM. Repairs may void manufacturer warranties or affect eligibility for future OEM services.
Under Illinois law, Customers have the right to choose independent repair providers and to request access to parts, tools, and documentation necessary for repair. Verdron may use used, refurbished, or non-OEM parts.
Verdron is committed to transparency, fairness, and sustainability in all business practices including: providing clear information about services, risks, and costs; sourcing parts responsibly; minimizing electronic waste; and treating all customers with respect, honesty, and professionalism.
All services are performed by Josiah Ramler, who is experienced in electronics repair but not certified or authorized by any manufacturer. Safety protocols are followed to protect customers, devices, and data.
Verdron maintains records of all service orders and customer communications for a minimum of three (3) years or as required by law. Data backups are available as an optional, fee-based service, retained for up to three (3) months after service completion.
By authorizing service, the Customer acknowledges they have read, understood, and agree to all terms. This Agreement constitutes the entire understanding between the parties regarding the subject matter and supersedes all prior agreements.
